Our art of working

Innovation at the service of tradition

If biodynamics is an old practice, it is combined here with a constant search for innovation.
For the Réaut family, the health of the soil is the keystone of the quality of the wines.

The earth, living and dynamic, plays a fundamental role in the quality of the raw material. Each plot is observed, studied, and cared for with scientific precision.
Respect for nature goes hand in hand with a detailed understanding of the vine and the soil.

The old straddles used on the estate limit soil compaction, ensuring that essential microbial life thrives.

Biodynamic preparations, such as herbal teas and silica sprays, naturally strengthen the vines' defences, thus preserving the purity and authenticity of each grape.

The symphony of terroir : the strength of living soils

The Côte des Bar, with its Kimmeridgian subsoil and clay layers, is a real book of geological history.
The limestone veins, witnesses of ancient times, nourish the vines and bring to each cuvée an unequalled minerality and freshness. It is here, in these lands shaped by millennia, that the roots plunge, drawing their strength from a soil revitalized by respectful and innovative practices.

Biodynamics, for the Réaut, is not only a method of cultivation, it is also a philosophy. In the manner of great natural thinkers such as Jean-Jacques Rousseau or Henry David Thoreau, Alain Réaut embraced this holistic approach, respecting the natural rhythms of the earth and the cosmos.
Every care given to the vine is thought out according to the lunar cycles, when possible, thus strengthening the plants' natural defences

The compost, the estate's true "Black Gold", is rigorously prepared from horse manure, cattle manure, hemp dust and basalt enriched with biodynamic preparations based on nettle, chamomile, dandelion, oak bark, yarrow and valerian. This carefully concocted blend nourishes the soil and sustains the life of this ancestral land.

We are certified Ecocert for the Organic Agriculture part and Demeter for the biodynamic agriculture part of the grapes.

To have a quality raw material, an essential pillar for the continuation of the winemaker's work in the same dynamic.
